Please join us on Friday, 12. February 2016 at the Wesley United Methodist Church. We will be in room 129 from 4pm to 6pm. (Park and enter at the farthest side entrance, which faces north into an EIU parking lot. There will be a sign on the door.)
The focus of this meeting will be birth & becoming a mother. Whether we look back on our birth experiences as beautiful, satisfying, disappointing, or traumatic, one thing is certain: we need to talk about it! Labor, birth, and the transition into motherhood can affect us very deeply, and it seems that each time we tell our story, we are able to process the event just a little bit more.
And our transformation into Moms can be just as varied. How were those early days? How is it now? Do you feel you were always meant to be a mother? Or maybe you can’t quite shake that “awkward mama” feeling? Need to connect with others who have been there? Come ready to share your stories and be ready to support other moms through these powerful topics.
(See this page for a list of helpful links on this topic.)
Please also bring any general breastfeeding questions or concerns you may have. Our weekly meetings are a haven for breastfeeding families, where we can boast and vent, laugh and cry, and learn from each other’s successes and troubles. Always come with your mind and your ears open! 🙂
